You should now have a WRT54G/S/L running DD-WRT with port 4 on its own VLAN/Network with access to the internet.

My neighbor shares my internet connection, and the isolated VLAN seems to be an excellent way to keep our local networks separated.    If there a way to deny the isolated VLAN access to the bridged VPN connection? Is seems to me that the "ifconfig tap0 0.0.0.0 promisc up" opens up tap0 to all.

The incoming data with both tagged vlans will come into one of the physical ports and the remaining will be used by local machines.
