7)   Select the Administration tab and then the Management sub-tab.

8)   Scroll down until you find the DNS MASQ section of the Management tab.

9)  In the Additional DNS Options box paste the following:

------------------- Copy starting below this line. -------------------
interface=vlan2
dhcp-range=192.168.2.100,192.168.2.149,255.255.255.0,1440m

--------------- Stop here when selecting text to copy --------------------------

DNSMASQ Configuration

10)  Click the Save Settings button at the bottom of the page.

11)  Back to the telnet window.  At the prompt type reboot and hit <enter>

You should now have a WRT54G/S/L running DD-WRT with port 4 on its own VLAN/Network with access to the internet.

If you have any questions or issues please leave a comment and we will see if we can help.

Combining isolated VLAN with bridged Ope

Superb articles!

I'm in the middle of setting up a bridged OpenVPN DD-WRT to DD-WRT (The intent is to link two residences for file and TiVo sharing). My neighbor shares my internet connection, and the isolated VLAN seems to be an excellent way to keep our local networks separated.

If there a way to deny the isolated VLAN access to the bridged VPN connection? Is seems to me that the "ifconfig tap0 0.0.0.0 promisc up" opens up tap0 to all.
Wireless VLAN Separationi

Hi,

I am trying to set up one vlan (tagged vlan 20)to utilize the physical ports and one vlan (tagged vlan 1000) to use the wireless. The incoming data with both tagged vlans will come into one of the physical ports and the remaining will be used by local machines. The wireless will distribute a different network.

How can this be done?

Thanks,
Mike

Moving wl0 to vlan2

Hello,

I'm trying to make wl0 part of vlan2.

I have vlan2 (port 4) working just fine. I used your link to create vlan2 and had no problems.

I also would appreciate any input on how to move wl0 to vlan2. I used another link to try and separate wl0 from lan but it broke vlan2's routing. However I could create a static connection but I couldn't get to the internet.

I want to know how to separate out a second (public) wlan. Similar to plugging in a FON to port 4, without the extra radio, wires, and power consumption.
